“French lines”

A rosewood, or an antique gold line, or a simple black line hand-painted on the mat can bring out the color or pattern on many types of art.

Custom Framing with Fillets and Hand Wrapped Fabric Mats

“Fillets” Intriguing mini-frames that are fitted to the inside of a mat, or just inside the frame, or both to give depth and definition to the art being showcased. “Hand-wrapped fabric mats” The warmth and richness of linen or silk sets off a beautiful watercolor or serigraph. Fabric is also a complementary background for an embroidered Chinese wedding collar or a christening dress or a Joe Montana jersey. We also do a variety of unique custom touches you won't find anywhere else, as shown by the samples below.

“Specialty mat cuts”

Used judiciously, notches, slants, arrows and offsets can add just the right touch to a mat. The objective is subtlety, creating a flow around and into the artwork. Combine this with one of our unique picture frames and we will help you create a truly special framed masterpiece!.
